Redrow is now progressing proposals for the next phases Cockering Farm. From 21st July to 11th August 2023, Redrow held a virtual exhibition and consultation.

Indicative site masterplan

Our detailed plans for the next stages of the site will include;

  • 224 new homes ranging from one to five bedrooms
  • Use of Redrow’s Heritage and Inspired ranges of homes, which use both traditional and contemporary styles to create distinct but complementary character areas around the site, using materials that reflect the wider Canterbury area
  • 30% affordable housing including low cost rent and shared ownership, inline with local planning policy and guidance
  • 428 private allocated car parking spaces & 44 visitor spaces
  • New footpaths and a cycle route
  • Private cycle storage  (155 private units with cycle storage within garages and 69 affordable units with cycle storage within garden sheds)
  • A range of Public Open Space, including allotments, recreational space and a new belt of mixed native species woodland
  • Utilities, infrastructure, sustainable drainage systems and earthworks

Indicative Housing Mix

The proposals for phases 3 – 5 for the Land at Cockering Farm include a range of property sizes, suitable for a variety of residents. The table below illustrates an indicative housing mix, which is subject to change, comprising 20 one-bedroom homes, suitable for working professionals and couples, 37 two-bedroom houses, the perfect fit for young families, 96 three-bedroom homes, and 71 homes with four or more bedrooms for more expanded family space, there is a property suitable for everyone. 30% of properties will be offered as affordable housing, in line with local planning policy and guidance.
